Biography

I came to Rochester, NY in 1991 to pursue a graduate degree from Nazareth College of Rochester. It was here that I was first exposed to Photography as Art and I have never turned back. I will never forget the moment when I first saw my image appear onto the print through the water as if by magic.

Once I had graduated with my degree, I first worked as a Lab specialist processing and printing customer orders. On the side, I volunteered at the George Eastman House printing orders for the community in their darkroom. It was truly an honor being a guest at the museum. It still amazes me that I was printing images of George Eastman himself from archived negatives!

After a while, I longed for something new to advance my career. I moved on to work for Light Impressions, now Lumiere Photo. The company is internationally known for its' archival quality photographic products. I helped established professional photographers decide on films and papers, as well as creating custom archival framing, while hanging shows in the gallery every once in a while. It really gave me a broad perspective on the life of a photographer and it was the perfect stepping stone to my next career move.

With the experience I had gained at this point, I finally had the tools behind me to apply for a position with Eastman Kodak Company. I was very excited to start in a Digital position working with customers over the phone. Though there was a lot to learn in broadening my skills from traditional to digital photography, I welcomed every bit of information I could get. A few years later, I was offered a position within Kodak Professional. This department gave me the opportunity to use high-end SLR digital cameras, talk to professional photographers using the equipment and software, and gain professional expertise and troubleshooting skills.

Around that time, an opportunity arose to work side by side with an established professional photographer of Rochester. Through assisting, I gained on the job professional experience in working directly with clients within the studio environment as well as on-location events. My favorite being in Weddings. Once I began running a business of my own, I became a professional member of the Greater Rochester Professional Photographers and recently moved into the President's role of which I am greatly honored and excited. I am also a proud member of the Professional Photographers Society of New York State, and the Professional Photographers of America, of which I regularly attend their workshops and trade shows. I continually educate myself on the newest technologies and creative aspects to professional photography and come to you with a wealth of information and creative style to tell your story beautifully.

My images reflect attention to detail, candid spontaneity, and the natural beauty of the subject. For me, it's about seeing something in a new way, and in realizing the great privilege I've had to capture it.
