I had the extreme honor to photograph different events once again this year for the High Falls Film Festival. It’s such an amazing production and I can’t even begin to imagine what goes into putting something like this together. We are very fortunate to have this festival right here in Rochester for the most part hosted at the Little Theatre. The festival celebrates women in Film and so much more. Every year we welcome movie icons, and public figures alike to share in our love for the movies, to celebrate accomplishments, and to sit back and enjoy the show! Thank you to everyone that makes this festival possible, to the volunteers that guide us, and to the movies themselves that take us away even if just for a little while. Here’s a few samples, and a fun video to reflect back on the celebration ~ enjoy!

An award ceremony was presented at the Susan B. Anthony house this year and we got to meet ‘Susan’ herself! :) When you talked to her, she talked back to you as if she really were Susan B. It was really fun watching her walk around and mingle.
The guest speaker was none other than Pat Carroll who’s been in the movies since 1951 according to her bio…wow! A fun thing about her is that she’s the voice of Ursula from ‘The Little Mermaid’. She was adorable, and what a laugh!

There was a kids party hosted by M.O.K.A. and Lake Effect Magazine with AMAZING cupcakes from Premier Pastry!

Javas has hosted gatherings for the festival in the past and it’s the perfect place for mingling. They provide, AMAZING food and desserts and it’s always one of my favorite things to photograph during the events – thanks Javas!

The two after hours parties that I attended were hosted by ONE and Max at the Falls – both perfect for parties, events, and dancing!

On the last day of the festival, guests were invited on a complimentary trip aboard the Mary Jemison boarding at the new Corn Hill Landing…that was really fun! Our captain and tour guide shared lots of historical information about Rochester while we soaked in all the views against the wind…nothing like being on a boat. Everyone had a great time and I highly recommend everyone taking the trip.

Here’s the video!

From the moment I sat down to meet Carol and Doug, I was instantly drawn into their story and relationship. They were introduced to each other through mutual friends,

and the rest is history.

Doug was beaming when I saw him at the church (Trinity Lutheran)

He greeted everyone coming in with a smile from ear to ear.

Carol was very excited to walk down the aisle and to finally call Doug her husband and to say that they’re married.

She has the best laugh too..full of energy and happiness. They have such a love for their growing family and their whole celebration was focused on everyone just having a great time!

We had an amazing sunny skied day with just the right amount of breeze. The park lodge where the reception took place (Black Creek Park) was so laid back and comfortable that it was more like a family reunion/picnic.

There were dozens of children running around playing games that they had provided for them in buckets like bubbles and Frisbee’s. Little girls chasing little boys, rolling down hills, climbing trees…it was a perfect day!

There was a beautiful toast given by family members and many thanks to the guests from Doug and Carol.

Dinner was a BBQ spread

and dessert was hosted by Abbotts… with all the fixin’s.

One of my favorite moments was right after Doug and Carol got their sundaes. They were about to dig in when I suggested they feed it to each other since they weren’t doing the traditional cake cutting. They loved the idea, and as soon as they fed each other, their faces scouled! We realized that they each fed each other their own sundae… so their first bite was that of the other’s sundae…with toppings they weren’t expecting. Everyone was laughing. So then they switched and everything was saved. :)

They shared their first dance in the lodge, and then the kids danced around the floor ~ it was such a wonderful celebration.

With it being picnic style, we had a wonderful opportunity to take some group shots with lots of requests too!

Congratulations Doug and Carol! Thank you so much for inviting me into your day…you’re so blessed to have found each other to share your lives with.

For some extra fun, here is a brief video to reminisce their Wedding day. And to view all the images from their celebration, go to my home page, www.seganphoto.com / click ‘Online Orders’ /click on their name, enter your email address when prompted, and the password is Doug’s last name.
Enjoy!
