“Winter is an etching, Spring a watercolor, Summer an oil painting, and Autumn a mosaic of them all.”
- Stanley Horowitz

All I can say is, WOW…Autumn Weddings are so incredibly beautiful with the backdrop of all the vibrant colors. We had an incredible day for this Wedding…it was warm, and sunny, and overcast…everything just flowed together and I just adore the pictures we were able to get. Gretta totally knows how to work the camera … flirty and full of fun loving romance! When I saw her come in all done up before getting her dress on, she was just glowing …full of excitement. The whole afternoon was spent out by Charlotte beach. The ceremony took place at Holy Cross; one of my favorite old churches… then we were off to Durand Eastman Park for Bridal Party pictures, and then to the Charlotte pier with just the Bride and Groom before the reception. I could follow those two anywhere … every glance between them was picture perfect.
The reception was held on the beach too; The Rohrbach Pavillion. They did an exceptional job with the decorations, and service. The guests had a blast…it was all very casual, and fun…lots and lots and lots of fun. And wow, they had like 8 different cakes out on display, with bowls of Reese’s Pieces to indulge in…it was quite the celebration, and I felt really lucky to be a part of it…as always!

Thanks you Gretta and Jeremy! You guys were adorable, and your Wedding was a blast!

Back in August, I volunteered my services photographing a model for the Rochester Wedding Magazine.  There were about 20 photographers that participated and a handful of models dressed in bridal couture as the magazine was looking for images for their book.  I went more for the experience in photographing a model and to practice posing brides since I tend to be more on the candid, catch it as it happens kind of photographer.  I love being able to anticipate what might happen through the lens, but there are definitely circumstances that insist on you being able to direct a person to reveal a better image.  So, I worked with my model for about an hour…ducking in and out of the shade which was tricky since we had to shoot in the middle of the afternoon, sun high in the sky, with limited places to hide out.  I posted a lot of them earlier in the blog…back in August if you want to see what I submitted.

Luck was on my side that day because I recently found out that one of my images was chosen for the November cover!!

Jayda was simply stunning, and I am honored to have won this privilege!  Thank you Rochester Wedding Magazine!
Here’s the new cover!

Jeff & Tari’s Wedding Day!

October 15, 2009

Holiday weekends with Monday’s off usually bring double Weddings, and this weekend was no exception :)   I was surrounded by love and friendship twice in a weekend and it was amazing.
Jeff was a co-worker of mine at Kodak before I ventured out into starting my own photography business.  He sat next to me in a call center atmosphere, and thanks to him, I made it through many many long stressful days.  His cute sense of humor, and down to earth manner calmed my nerves, and helped me to look forward to going to work every day.

When I heard from him that he was engaged, I was SO excited!  Even more so when he asked me to photograph their Wedding day!  My husband and I met Tari for the first time during our consultation and we immediately saw the connection between them …she gets him.   She appreciates all the great things about Jeff and it made me really happy to be around them.

We had a beautiful day for their Wedding…another sun filled crisp Fall day.  Tari got ready at Jeff’s old house…it was empty because he’s moving into her place!   She already had her Wedding Dress on when I got there…I guess she was really excited to put it on …completely understandable!  :)   She looked amazing…and really really happy.

The Wedding and reception took place at the Burgundy Basin Inn in Pittsford. When I saw Jeff all dressed up in his tux, a huge smile took over my face…I was so so happy for him! He looked so handsome and excited.

The ceremony was beautiful…I remember as soon as everyone was seated, and the ceremony began, the sun shone brightly through the trees above onto the guests letting us know their celebration was starting.

They were so sweet together all night…through the formals, and the toasts, even the cake cutting…no surprises :) Romantic, easy going, and fun!

Congratulations Tari & Jeff! Thank you for inviting me into your Wedding celebration ~ I wish you love and happiness always!
