Most of the time, I blog about the wonderful couples and events that come into my life as I photograph them…but this time, I am so excited to be posting a personal entry! We welcomed a baby girl into our family on February 24th after a long and scary labor (wow, no wonder people don’t talk about it). She was born at 3:18 a.m., 7lbs, 11 0z’s, and 21″ long at the Highland Hospital. I’m so thankful for my experience at this hospital…they did an amazing job, and ALL the nurses were so sweet and kind as I progressed through my labor. I can’t thank them enough. It’s true how exciting it is when the nurses and your husband all yell out …’we can see the head!’
My eyes were closed the entire time due to exhaustion …but I managed to open them long enough to see her being born…I will never forget it. The love is instant and indescribable….and grows stronger every day if that’s even possible. We named her Kayla Rose and she is the most beautiful thing I have ever seen.

I’m so excited to share some of her first pictures with you and I look forward to posting more as she continues to grow…stay tuned!

so happy for you guys! Congratulations on the new miracle in your lives. I can’t wait to see her.
Hi, Sue!
Happy for you and Bob!
Bob misses baby girl when he’s at work and melts when he talks about her…it’s very sweet!
Wow, she IS a beautiful newborn! you know, some newborns are just not that cute . . . they grow out of it, but at first, they’re all funny looking, wrinkled, misshaped head, etc. But not Kayla Rose . . . she’s perfect “right out of the box”!! Shoulda known y’all’s baby would be picture-ready from the start!! We love you, The Baums
Congratulations! What a beautiful baby!
