I have been photographing a lot of High School seniors lately, and I also follow a national photographic organization called Senior Portrait Artists .  They held a contest for the best portrait entries with the winners having the honor of  having their image rotated within their new iPhone application.  I won a spot with one of my Senior photographs! :)   There were over 200 entries, and mine was chosen within the top 30!

Here is the link on Facebook that has all the winning images: http://www.facebook.com/spartists?ref=ts#!/album.php?aid=232698&id=60010015215

I’m so glad I entered, and it encourages me to enter more competitions in different categories, as well as training my photographic eye to see new things in new ways!

So, if anyone out there has an iPhone, and downloads the ‘Senior Portrait Artists’ application, this picture will be among its’ samples.  Congratulations Mike ~ great shot!

When I first met with Jessica, I was blown away at how many things she had on her plate and school hadn’t even started yet!  Being a High School Senior comes with a lot of responsibility, and tasks, and if you think you’re busy now…try going back to Highschool! :)

I’m so glad we got to do a re-shoot…first time around she was exhausted that day and I completely understand how that can happen.   Jessica, you shine in these pictures and I truly hope you love them as much as I do.

I hope you’re able to balance your work load with making lasting memories with your friends and family as you head into your last year of High School.  Being a Senior is such an exciting time …. make sure you stop and look around once in a while and treasure every last second. :)

Do not follow where the path may lead.  Go, instead, where there is no path and leave a trail.”  ~Ralph Waldo Emerson

Wow, the fantastic referrals I’ve been receiving are a blessing.  Thanks to the Moms, Weddings, and Facebook for leading you all to me as your portrait photographer!  I’ve had an amazing summer balancing portrait sessions with my Weddings… a fun and welcomed bonus to my usual routine.  I feel like a teenager sometimes when I’m talking to these girls.  But then I remember I’m all grown up with a husband, a new baby in a cute little home with our dog Buddy…thank goodness! :)

Enough about me ~ here’s beautiful Nicole; full of promise, arms open wide to the world ~ go get ‘em kiddo!  “The tassel’s worth the hassle!” :)
