Niki & Pete ~ Engaged! {Warner Castle/Sunken Gardens, Rochester, NY}

I always wonder who might be recommending me out there…who’s talking about me, or recognizing my name in passing as a Wedding photographer. Much to my surprise, a Wedding planner that I had met with years ago, got in contact and wanted to introduce her couple to me. Word of mouth recommendations are the best referrals a business can get…no matter how large or small the company. THANK YOU to Rachel at Events Made Easy for introducing me to Niki & Pete! I’m SO happy to have met them, and I cannot wait to see what she creates for their Big Day!

So, what do you think of when you hear Ibiza themed Wedding? The first thing that came to my mind was sexy! If you’ve ever watched E! parties in Spain, you’d know what I’m talking about. So, for their Engagement session, and in reading their natural chemistry together as well, I could tell this was going to be one hot session and I happily guided them into it. Back and forth between working it, and finding their ‘ENERGY’ (a phrase we yelled together to loosen up and have fun) they created an incredibly beautiful collection of images to reflect back on all their life together.

In just a few weeks, we’ll be celebrating in the back yard of their family home and I know the guests will be all a flutter when they see their guest book filled with these images…that is, when they can peel themselves away from gushing over the beautiful Bride.

Have fun you two; get ready to bring the ‘Energy’!!

When you wish upon a star ♥ Welcome Lillian!

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again ~ being welcomed back into the lives of my past Brides and Grooms overwhelms me with thankfulness. Seeing Jeff & Alison immediately brought me back to their very special celebration 3 years ago at the spectacular Belhurst Castle as I reminisced their fairytale gathering, her Mickey Mouse Engagement ring, and their incredible castle cake!

As I am greeted with hugs, I see baby Lily out of the corner of my eye and I can’t wait to see her up close. What a princess! I’m so glad they made the decision to capture these moments for their family and that I was chosen again to preserve them.

As a parent, the baby stage feels like it’s going to last forever because you’re just exhausted…but before you know it, they’re not a baby anymore, you’re getting more sleep, and you’re trying to remember what they looked like just months ago.

We’re not just taking these pictures for ourselves, we’re taking them for the children. What a gift I’ve been given to be able to create heirlooms for my families….beautifully.

Without further adieu, welcome to the world Lillian! May all your sweet dreams come true. ♥

Elizabeth & Brian Brian’s ‘tag along’ session {Mendon Ponds, Rochester NY}

Yes, technically we were together for our Engagement session, but really it was more like I was the third party witnessing a beautiful date night spent together in our amazing Mendon Ponds Park. Admittedly at first, they were both very very nervous. They chose me as their photographer initially because they felt very comfortable around me, which I love to hear. But even knowing that, being in front of a camera for most of us is something we just don’t want to do…but we ALWAYS love looking at the pictures afterwards and are thankful we have them.

Before long, after sharing some laughs, and comforting them, they really did forget I was there and were just enjoying the incredibly beautiful evening together in each others arms. The experience was something new to them in another way too. They are both long …..LONG distance runners, and Mendon Ponds is their favorite place to go running together. They know the trails inside and out…which says a lot because the park is enormous! I’m always so in awe of the dedication it takes to be athletic. Especially when they absolutely love it and can’t imagine not doing it.

They’re really lucky to have found one another to share this passion with too. So adorable together. They had such a natural chemistry; I especially loved how Brian lovingly protected Elizabeth..comforted…just super sweet; and it shows. ♥

I haven’t been to Belhurst Castle in a while, and am really looking forward to sharing in all their love and happiness this summer on their Big Day! Enjoy!
