So, THIS is pretty much how we started our shoot. :D

It’s funny, because when I initially met with Liz to talk about her upcoming Wedding, Dan wasn’t able to join her.  When she started describing him, I kind of brushed it off and thought maybe she was exaggerating a little bit…to be funny.  Nope!  Dan really IS how she described him…and I LOVED it!  They are the perfect match because they compliment each other in the silliest of ways.  I had to act fast with them to catch certain expressions…in between a lot of horsing around (LOL), but that’s what I do and it’s all about anticipation and in being able to figure people out.  And to have FUN! :D

We went for a leisurely stroll down the canal in Schoen Place on a perfect sun kissed evening and I couldn’t be happier as I look forward to their celebration in  just a little over a month.  Their session was bitter sweet for me too because it’s my last one for this years Weddings.  What a perfectly fun way to end.

Can you feel the sarcasm here?  :)

Congratulations Liz & Dan ~ so excited to celebrate your Big Day!  ♥

I have been looking forward to this Wedding since this super sweet couple chose me as their photographer last year.  We had an immediate connection and I’m so thankful they recognized our similarities so that I could beautifully capture the romance and divine friendship between them.   I see a lot of love, and every couple has their own way of expressing theirs…and these two have such a simple consideration of each other that makes me want to be a better half to my Husband too.

I absolutely loved our Engagement session together and we were so fortunate to schedule it on the one day that the Ellwanger Gardens were open to the public.  It was a spectacular treat to photograph their love among the fragrant Peonies and blossoming trees.  Just gorgeous.

Another exciting piece to this celebration is that her family founded ‘Lumiere Photo‘ (formerly Light Impressions); where I aspired to work years ago and was so thankful I had that incredible opportunity.   To be chosen by a family with such an influence on our photographic community was an honor I don’t think I’ll ever truly grasp.  Thank you Emily & Ken! :)

If you’ve never been told, or experienced Hurd Orchards yourself, you’re going to hear a lot about it now ~ it is just the most amazing place to surround yourself with and we’re so very lucky that it’s right here in our own back yard.  Just under 1/2 an hour outside of Rochester along Ridge Rd. West…in Holley NY, nestled among an orchard, and fragrant gardens, you’ll find an old rustic barn and a little country shop filled with delectable jams, breads, and goodies made exclusively by hand from their fields.  It is truly a labor of love for the family; most notable are Sue and Amy, a mother/daughter team who are some of the most gracious women I’ve ever met.  You must visit their website to see all the events they put on throughout the year.  Thankfully, you don’t need to be getting married to experience this heavenly place.  So make a plan, invite someone you love, and set the date to enjoy the land and bounty this wonderful family provides.

Emily & Ken, I was overwhelmed with gratitude as I captured the magic of your celebration ~ wishing you a lifetime of happiness, and nothing else, because ‘All you need is Love’.  ♥
Congratulations! :)

At the end of the ceremony, it was asked of the guests to leave a token of themselves behind at the ‘altar’ as a keepsake for their candle jar.  What an incredible assortment; including her fathers BABY shoe!

Croquet anyone?! :D

Time for dinner ~ I couldn’t wait to see the barn!

Just a little side note, all the cups were made out of CORN and were biodegradable!   A few of them even started melting from the afternoon sun!

It’s amazing to me just how many Weddings I have been chosen for this year that are the result of praise and happiness from past celebrations!  Liz is best friends with a mom that was a guest at a past Wedding where I photographed her baby boy and she has been following me ever since because of those images.  As a photographer, you never know the impact your pictures are going to create for all the different lives you come in contact with ~ it amazes me to no end.  I absolutely love photographing children and her baby boy was the cutest thing ever and I could have easily followed him around for the entire reception that day. :)

So, now that the mom’s best friend got Engaged ~ she instantly suggested my services to the Bride to be, and the rest is history…here we are celebrating their Engagement and future Wedding at the Rochester Yacht Club!

The couple, Liz and Tom, actually live in California!  They’ve been planning their entire Wedding long distance with the help of their amazing family and friends.  I really wanted to meet them before their Big day and to give them a chance to enjoy their Engagement session together…so luckily on their recent trip home to NY, we made it happen.  Buffalo was the closest we got, so I made the trip out there, and was able to photograph them in their families beautiful back yard.  It’s so nice getting to photograph my couples at different locations ~ especially when they choose places that have special meaning to them.  I love it, and I love these photos, and I couldn’t be more excited to see them enjoy their celebration together in just a few more weeks.

Congratulations Liz & Tom ~ have fun and I’ll see you soon!
