Spring is in the air

April 21, 2010

Wow, what a perfectly beautiful Spring afternoon we had recently.  And there’s no better way to spend it then with the warm wind blowing through your hair, while the cherry blossom petals float through the clear blue sky.  Even better when you experience it while laughing and spending time with your friends and family for a portrait shoot!

I had the extreme pleasure of first photographing Sarah and Michael for their Engagement session a few years ago and then again for their beautiful Wedding.  I was so excited when they contacted me to have a family portrait taken for Sarah’s parents who were celebrating their 30th Anniversary!  It was so thoughtful of the kids to want to have that done for the parents…and I was so honored to be a part of it.

Here are a few of my favorites from the day.  If you’re in the area, and you’ve never been to Durand Eastman Park off Lake Ontario, you need to go and explore!

These first few are of the siblings and their significant others.  The parents wanted some shots of just the kids…what a fun loving bunch!  :)

This is just the siblings goofing around together…just like old times.

awww…the Anniversary couple…still so much in love.

Their family is so lucky that each of the four siblings have significant others!  So besides getting pictures of the 4 kids together, we could also get pictures of each couple together.  They were all so cute and I loved photographing each of them.

Once we were done in the park, we headed across the street for a few beach photos.  Thanks to the whole family for braving the chill after taking their shoes and socks off for the pictures! We took them within a matter of minutes so they could get all toasty again…but then all of a sudden, this daring guy decides to check out the water ~ yikes!  He’s still smiling though!  :)

And just for kicks, this kid at heart suddenly goes into a hand stand!  Seriously, when’s the last time you attempted that even just for fun?  So great!

That’s what happiness is…spending time with your loved ones on an adventure…even if it’s in your own home town just going around having your pictures taken.  It’s FUN and then you have these great memories captured for a lifetime of smiles.
:)

This last  photo makes ME want to have a beach shot taken of OUR family … it’s timeless and what a great photo for a frame on the wall ~ I love it!  They will always remember this day together, and the Anniversary that brought them together for it.

I’m so blessed to be a lifestyle photographer ~ capturing the moments and memories of our lives events with happiness and laughter in my heart as I click away.
Thanks Sarah and Michael for welcoming be back into the family!

“Winter is an etching, Spring a watercolor, Summer an oil painting, and Autumn a mosaic of them all.”
- Stanley Horowitz

All I can say is, WOW…Autumn Weddings are so incredibly beautiful with the backdrop of all the vibrant colors. We had an incredible day for this Wedding…it was warm, and sunny, and overcast…everything just flowed together and I just adore the pictures we were able to get. Gretta totally knows how to work the camera … flirty and full of fun loving romance! When I saw her come in all done up before getting her dress on, she was just glowing …full of excitement. The whole afternoon was spent out by Charlotte beach. The ceremony took place at Holy Cross; one of my favorite old churches… then we were off to Durand Eastman Park for Bridal Party pictures, and then to the Charlotte pier with just the Bride and Groom before the reception. I could follow those two anywhere … every glance between them was picture perfect.
The reception was held on the beach too; The Rohrbach Pavillion. They did an exceptional job with the decorations, and service. The guests had a blast…it was all very casual, and fun…lots and lots and lots of fun. And wow, they had like 8 different cakes out on display, with bowls of Reese’s Pieces to indulge in…it was quite the celebration, and I felt really lucky to be a part of it…as always!

Thanks you Gretta and Jeremy! You guys were adorable, and your Wedding was a blast!
