As I sit down at my desk to write this post, I am flooded with visions of smiles, beautiful details, tiny toes, amazing locations, and more hugs than I could ever imagine getting used to.  I am so incredibly thankful for the life I have been given, for the path I have chosen, and for the future full of hope that I foresee for myself and my family.

Celebrating the beginning of a new year brings all sorts of emotions…usually starting with excitement…and soon afterwards, a sense of failure…before even beginning.  New Years resolutions are evil.  They’re supposed to help us, but they usually just make us feel bad because it’s almost impossible to commit to something…just because of a new date on the calendar.

I’ve decided to focus on what I didn’t accomplish the prior year and to make a point to incorporate some of that into my every day behaviors.  Even if it’s as simple as eating one less cookie a week…it’s something ;)

One thing I wanted to do all year and didn’t, was to purchase a new lens for my camera.  I bought a flash, but only because I had to…and it’s no fun when it’s because you have to.  I’m already looking forward to the images I can produce with it.  Still me, still my style…just more variety. :)

If I’m really lucky, I will purchase a camera body that allows me to take video too.  I really really really want to be able to do that.   I will figure something out.

Most importantly, I want to focus on what I didn’t do last year for YOU, the amazing people who choose me for their memories, and those that support me and my business with recommendations.  I would not be able to sustain my path without your love and praise and thanking you will be my top priority.

As the snow (finally) falls outside my window, I am filled with peace.  A quiet calm that I will harness and save to bring with me for everything I do.  May you find peace this year as you make your choices, and always, share a little love and laughter.  ♥

“One resolution I have made, and try always to keep, is this:  To rise above the little things.”  ~John Burroughs

Happy New Year!!

I have been so blessed this year with returning customers from past events and sessions.  Sarah and Michael are two of them, and I’m so thankful for their continued support.   They trusted in me years ago with their Engagement session first, then their Wedding celebration, a large family photo at the beach, and NOW….they’re expecting!!!  They have been a part of my life for almost 5 years…I can’t believe it now that I’m writing that, wow.

If you’re expecting, or know someone who is…I would love to be able to preserve this special time in their lives too.  As the mom, it seems to last forever…but 9 months in comparison to the lifetime of joy that a baby brings is fleeting.

Thank you Sarah and Mike for inviting me back into your lives ~ I couldn’t be more excited for you, and I look forward to meeting your sweet little one very soon!
:)

Toys, and stuffed animals…well, maybe not ALL of them ;)

With love

I was first introduced to Niki & Pete through Rachel of  Events Made Easy and have been blessed ever since.  Being referred by other couples, and Wedding vendors is such a treat and I am always beside myself with thankfulness for their praise.  If it weren’t for her referral, I probably wouldn’t have met them…and that would have been very sad ~ they’re such a super sweet couple! ♥  If you didn’t get to see their Engagement session, you can view it here ~ be prepared to stop and stay a while! :)

Their Big Day was held out in Bloomfield, in the home that Niki grew up in and where her parents still live.  What a beautiful historic home out in the countryside…as soon as you pulled up to it, you were wrapped in a big welcoming hug.  When I saw the reception tent off in the distance, I became so excited for the rest of the days events…I couldn’t wait to get started!

Off to the church ~ time to get Married! :)

Incredible flowers…I’ve never seen anything like them!

It’s time! :)

Congratulations!!! :D

Off to Warner Castle/Sunken Gardens!

Enough of this ~ time to hit the A.C. and get back to the party! :)

YES!  That’s a couch!  So cool!

We got back in time for the Bride and Groom to mingle before introductions and enjoy some cocktails with their guests

Niki’s fabulous mom ~ she’s amazing! :)

I could have used one of those for my water! LOL

Time for introductions ~ one of the couples came riding in on the motorcycle and the rest ran behind them!

First dance ♥

After toasts, they were given these fantastic custom made goggles for snowboarding!

As the night started to settle in, the lights in the tent really lit up!  So much color ~ way to go ‘Events Made Easy!’

Some beautiful romantic pictures before dusk

Let’s get this party started!

I love how the light glowing from inside outlines the bike

Those sunglasses everyone was wearing were their favors ~ great idea!

This is a sample page from the Guest Books I make with our Engagement Session images ~ everyone loves writing messages in them!

Have you ever seen a Wish Lantern release before? It’s the equivalent of a mini hot air balloon, and when released into the night sky, the person/people releasing them will traditionally make a wish for the Bride and Groom ♥

Congratulations Niki & Pete!  Your Wedding was amazing, and I wish you so much love and happiness as you begin your journey as Husband and Wife ~ in Ibiza – wow!! :D

The view as I was leaving … the A.C. was calling me…but the view made me want to stay ~ what an amazing celebration!

With Love and air conditioning,

Sue
